Ten checks before sharing a question paper

Before submitting an MCQ set, worksheet or practice paper, review the question and the answer together. This checklist helps organise that review; it does not certify a paper as Board-approved.

Review the whole paper

  1. Audience: is the standard, subject, medium and topic stated?
  2. Alignment: have you checked the actual chapter and edition you refer to?
  3. Instructions: are the required response, units and permitted materials clear?
  4. Question wording: can the learner understand what is being asked without guessing your intention?
  5. Answer: has someone solved the question independently and checked the key?
  6. MCQ options: is there one defensible answer when the question promises one? Are distractors plausible and unambiguous?
  7. Marks: do the individual marks add up, and are any method marks explained?
  8. Timing and difficulty: are suggested time and difficulty labelled as estimates unless they have been checked in a relevant setting?
  9. Presentation: are diagrams readable, symbols consistent and necessary information present?
  10. Rights and privacy: are sources credited, permissions confirmed and student identifiers removed?

Record what changed

Keep a short review record. If an answer changes after publication, record the correction and version date so learners can identify the current resource.

Use the correct label

Call an original practice paper a “practice paper”. Use “official”, “previous Board paper” or “peer-reviewed” only when the source and status can be verified. AI generation does not replace an independent solution check.
